There are a few considerations that need to be considered while taking decisions.
- Treatment Facility / Treating Doctor: There are two ways that one could adopt, first is finding the oncologist and then finding out the medical facility where he treats his patients or vica versa meaning identifying the treatment facility and taking treatment from the staff that is available.
- Insurance: Another important factor may be insurance. It is important to find out if the treatment facility that you are considering is recognized by your insurance company. It is equally important to decide whether you would be going for cashless services or opting to lodge a claim independently.
- Other Factors: In addition to the above in a country like ours considerations like distance and cost of treatment also have an important role to play.

South India is fast becoming a hub for medical tourism where patients from different countries come to get treated due to excellent facilities as well as nominal costs of treatment as compared to their home countries. This is specially true for those coming from Europe, North American continents where the cost of private treatment is sky high.

3. Apollo Cancer Hospital: One of the best places for cancer treatment it is a chain of hospitals with pan India presence. Equipped with best of medical equipments and qualified professionals. The hospital at Hyderabad specializes in cancer treatment.

4. Amala Cancer Hospital and Research Centre (AIMS)
Also known as “Home for total healing” the hospital is a renowned name in cancer treatment. Located in Trissur district of Kerala it was established in 1831. Spread over 40 acres, its oncology department is the most famous.
